Our story
I'm Kristey — a Canadian lawyer, expat, and dog mum.
I came to this from law, not the pet industry. I've flown my dog Kio into the UAE in-cabin and out as cargo. Two trips, two methods, and two completely different sets of rules.
Kio's flight was about 14 hours. Yours from the UK is about 7.
I booked Kio's cargo flight myself. From the UK, you can't. Airlines only accept dogs in cargo through a pet relocation company, so choosing the right one becomes one of the most important decisions you'll make.
Even as a lawyer, I couldn't find one place that put airline rules, UAE import requirements, paperwork, and timelines in order. The answers were scattered across government sites, WhatsApp groups, Reddit, and Facebook — and they often contradicted each other.
So I built the tool I wish I'd had.
Furs Class Travel is a free UK-to-UAE dog travel planner that checks your dog's breed, age, weight, and travel date against official route restrictions. It instantly shows whether your dog is eligible for cargo, in-cabin, or private jet travel, lays out your vet timelines and requirements, and connects you with vetted, trusted partners to book with.
Every rule in the planner is checked against the airline's or government's own documents — not blogs or forums.
How I choose who to recommend
I'm not a pet relocation company. I research them for you.
I researched 40+ companies on the UK to UAE route and interviewed the leading ones one-on-one. Then I requested quotes as a regular dog owner, to see how they treat someone who isn't a partner.
Every company I recommend must have:
- Credentials — IPATA membership and the relevant accreditations.
- Route experience — A proven track record on the UK to UAE route.
- Animal welfare — Proper crates, veterinary involvement, and a plan when things go wrong.
- Honest pricing — Written quotes, clear inclusions, and no surprise airport fees.
- A real contact — Someone who keeps you updated throughout the journey.
- Reputation — Genuine reviews, with no pattern of unresolved complaints.
And the question that matters most:
Would I trust them with Kio?
If it isn't a confident yes, they're not here.
My list is short on purpose: one company for cargo, one for private jet. For in-cabin, you book directly with the airline.
I regularly re-check every company on this list. If standards slip, they come off.

That never decides who I recommend.
One company offered me more to feature only them. Another wanted to add my fee to your price. I said no to both, because a recommendation that can be bought isn't worth much.
